What's  A  Broker

   A "Broker" is the owner of his/her own company who holds his/her own...

   brokerage authority, along with a bond and insurance.

   They are responsible for the overall freight being transported.

   They are responsible for the accounts payables and accounts receivables.

   They are usually responsible for the liability.

   (So long as you don't sign anything in the broker-agent agreement that makes you responsible).

   If the brokerage company are responsible to pay the agent and pay the carriers and bill the shippers for the freight.
